On the occasion of its biannual meeting held in Ottawa, the Canadian Association of Conference Interpreters (CACI)/AIIC Canada was pleased to present its 2005 Student Award to Ms. Sigrid Saou. Several officials of the Canadian Federal Government’s Translation Bureau were in attendance: Mr. Alain Wood, Director, Parliamentary Translation and Interpretation, Mrs. Dominique Chauvaux, Manager, Conference Interpretation Service and Mrs. Monique Perrin d'Arloz, Manager, Parliamentary Interpretation. Also present at the award presentation ceremony were Mr. Jacques Audet, member of AIIC and Interpreter-in-Residence at the University of Ottawa’s School of Translation and Interpretation, as well as a number of students currently attending the Master's Program in Conference Interpretation at the School. After a short welcoming address, Mrs. Josette Stéphan-Chikhani, CACI President and AIIC Council Member for Canada, presented the CACI/AIIC Canada Student Award to Ms. Saou, wishing her all the best in her chosen career.
